Prof. Hayley Fowler, Newcastle University: Understanding global changes to short duration extreme rainfall and flash floods

New research on sub-daily precipitation coupled with regional radar datasets is giving new insights into the global climatology of extremes. A new high resolution convection-permitting model allows projections of sub-daily precipitation extremes, with implications for flash flooding.
