Claudia Neuschulz

Claudia is a DPhil candidate in Geography and the Environment at the University of Oxford. Her research explores how everyday self-care, wash, and flush routines, especially the use of pharmaceuticals and personal care products (PPCPs), affect water quality and how these issues are understood in policy and public life. Using the Core Social Motives framework, she examines how belonging, identity, and meaning influence polluting practices and how these insights can inspire more culturally attuned approaches to water care. Her work, set within Germany’s National Water Strategy, bridges social psychology and water governance to reimagine how societies connect personal wellbeing with environmental responsibility.
