In my group we develop optical sensing devices that can be used to detect trace chemicals in tiny (microlitre) volumes of water. We are commercialising this technology in collaboration with the Vallance group in Chemistry, with a new spinout company aimed at sensing nutrients, and other pollutants, in water systems.
