Jacob Katuva

DPhil Researcher

School of Geography and the Environment

Jacob is examining the impacts of mining and irrigation on water resources and human development. His research aims to understand how development projects affect groundwater quantity and quality, ecosystems services, water supply and sanitation, health, education and energy, both spatially and temporally. Joanne Keenan

REACH Programme Manager

Joanne is responsible for the day-to-day management of the REACH Programme by supporting the Director and Co-Director. She coordinates the Programme Management Office and liaises with consortium partners and funders on administrative, financial and contractual issues.

James King

DPhil Researcher

James works on rainfall dynamics and change in East Africa. He has research interests in the large-scale drivers of rainfall trends and climate model representations of rainfall mechanisms, as well as broader interests in climate policy and ethics. Supervisors: Professor Richard Washington, Dr Sebastian Engelstaedter.

Dr Claas Kirchhelle

Oxford Martin School, Wellcome Unit for the History of Medicine, Wolfson College

Claas is an historian working on the history of antibiotics, typhoid, epidemiology, and global health. He is particularly interested in finding new ways to evaluate the impacts of historical disease interventions.
