Broadly, my work focuses on the intersections between infrastructure, economics, and governance to ensure that the decisions and construction around future assets are sustainable and equitable.
My past research has ranged from the physical water sciences in aqueous geochemistry and chemical oceanography (University of Hawaii, NOAA, and NASA) to water engineering, economics, and equity projects (Univeristy of California, City of Los Angeles, State of California). I have a deep interest in the intersection of the water sector with other infrastructure networks like energy and transportation, as well as new modes of developing water like potable water recycling technologies.
My present non-academic roles leverage my experience in urban water through the City+2025 Urban Analytics Conference as well as the UNFCCC Megacity Alliance for Water and Climate (MAWAC). My current work considers modalities of governance and infrastructure project delivery in the US, Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean.
